Fantastical creation theme, mild abstract imagery
Detailed Analysis
These are the lyrics to 'Weird Science' by Oingo Boingo, the theme song from the 1985 John Hughes film of the same name. The lyrics center on the concept of creating something (or someone) artificial using imagination, technology, and science — referencing Frankenstein-like creation themes. While the film itself involves teenagers using a computer to create a woman, the lyrics themselves are largely abstract and fantastical, with references to 'plastic tubes and pots and pans,' 'voodoo dolls,' 'electricity,' and 'living tissue, warm flesh.' The phrase 'living tissue, warm flesh' and 'just flesh and blood' could be interpreted as mildly suggestive in context of the film, but in isolation the lyrics read more as science-fiction/horror-inspired creative imagery. There is no explicit language, no direct sexual content, no drug or alcohol references, and no graphic violence. The references to creation ('It's alive!') are more evocative of classic monster movies. The overall tone is playful and imaginative. The mildest concern is the abstract reference to 'warm flesh' and 'living tissue,' which in context of the film carries some subtle undertones, but within the lyrics alone, this does not rise to the level of sexual content or innuendo.
